How to Use Schola Rosa
Schola Rosa Curricula are primarily online accessible, digital resources. It is true that some of the components are available for purchase in print, but others are meant to be accessed online. Therefore, in order for Schola Rosa to work in your home, it is necessary that you have internet access and general technical know-how with your devices, including a printer.
The great benefit of a digital resource is that it can be very extensive, without being very expensive! But it is necessary to adopt a different approach to the material than you would use with an out of the box resource. To give you a sense of how working with SR digital tools might look, here is a step-by-step description of the process.
Step 2.
Orientation
Get your footing in the LMS by completing the "Getting Started & Orientation" located there. This is the best time to ensure you are set up to print some things and to access others on a device.
Step 3.
Prep the Unit
Before your first week of school, open the "Training Unit" in the LMS to organize your first lessons and activities. With the Handbook in hand, locate each component and print anything required. Repeat this prep for each unit, throughout the year.
Step 4.
Teach, Assess, Repeat!
Using the Handbook as your main guide, teach the unit. Then assess the week, move kids up and down in level as seems best, supplement where needed, make notes. Repeat the process with each unit throughout the year.
